BTS Appointed Exclusive Global A2P SMS Aggregator for BBIX and SoftBank Corp.

Business Telecommunications Services, Inc. (BTS) has been appointed the exclusive international A2P SMS aggregator for BBIX, Inc., the international A2P SMS gateway of SoftBank Corp. This development strengthens the five-year partnership between BTS, BBIX, and SoftBank, ensuring seamless and secure termination of international A2P SMS traffic to the SoftBank network through BTS.

By combining BTS’s global reach with BBIX’s market expertise, the partnership enhances operational efficiency, streamlines communication services, and provides superior customer support. The collaboration also facilitates navigation of regulatory complexities, expands market opportunities, and drives revenue growth, supported by BTS’s advanced S1 Platform for reliable and secure messaging solutions.

NOS and iBASIS Renew and Expand Strategic Partnership

iBASIS and NOS have renewed their strategic partnership with a multi-year agreement that builds on their successful four-year collaboration, enhancing international voice, IPX, mobile data, and messaging services. The partnership introduces new initiatives, including the deployment of an SMS Firewall to bolster security and service quality.

Since the partnership began in 2020, iBASIS has utilized its global platform to provide NOS with advanced services such as fraud protection, real-time monitoring, and increased visibility across international services. This collaboration has notably driven mobile data growth for NOS, with roaming data usage increasing by 62% in 2024 compared to 2022.

Digital Commerce Spend to Hit $34 Trillion by 2029

Juniper Research projects that global digital commerce spending will grow by 65% from $23 trillion in 2024 to reach $37.95 trillion by 2029. This surge will be largely driven by expanding eCommerce access in Latin America and Asia Pacific, fueled by improving infrastructure and the increased availability of local payment methods.

The study provides detailed data on digital commerce spending across various sectors, including digital money transfers, purchases of digital and physical goods, digital ticketing, banking, NFC payments, and QR code payments.

Research author Nick Maynard explained: “Cards have powered the emergence and establishment of the digital commerce sector in key developed markets, but international merchants must look beyond cards to capitalise on this next phase of growth. As even developed markets look to implement A2A payments within eCommerce, embracing local payment methods must be a clear priority in all markets”.
