WhatsApp Boosts Your Privacy: How to Silence Unknown Callers

WhatsApp has announced more privacy protections on the messaging app. You’ll now be able to silence calls from unknown numbers, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said Tuesday, as well as using a “privacy checkup” feature to see every privacy option on the app.

Silence unknown callers will automatically prevent spam, scams and unknown calls from going through. They’ll still appear in your calls list, but won’t actively ring on your phone.

Google tests badge for Messages that quickly points out RCS chats

Rich Communication Services (RCS) is the platform that Google offers Android users in its Messages by Google app. Similar to iMessage in iOS, RCS uses your phone’s data connection and Wi-Fi instead of the cellular connection used for SMS/MMS messaging. With RCS, users can type messages with as many as 8,000 characters as opposed to 160 for SMS. RCS also offers end-to-end encryption, read receipts, typing indicators, high-quality images and video, and text inside blue bubbles.

Gen Z would rather watch live sport on the go from mobile phone – as it’s more convenient

Gen Z prefer watching live sport on the go rather than viewing it at home or in a pub – because it’s more convenient.

A poll, of 600 sports fans, found 67 per cent of those aged 18-26, will typically watch sport from their mobile phone while out and about.

Millennials follow close behind, with 54 per cent of the age group preferring to watch sport on their mobile – but this drops to just 23 per cent of Gen X adults.
