MEFTV speaks to Daniele Poiero, Founder and CEO of R&D Communication about their business and some of the challenges impeding the growth of the A2P SMS market.

“If we talk about barriers – regulation which is somehow lacking.. or not well controlled in some countries around the world by local governments – the industry is affected.. the consequence is the birth and growing of illegal rogues that are quite an issue for the companies that try to work properly within the business..”

“What we’re doing for example with you guys [MEF] is try to build and write downs the common rules to be respected and to classify companies that work differently.. giving a sort of patent to companies that work properly.. In our market.. its not uncommon for example to see some companies watch the traffic you send them in order to go directly to the end customer – these unpleasant actions don’t help at all the growth of a clean market.

Creating trust among companies playing in the industry is the first thing we should try to do so talking together and applying common actions in order to have a clean industry – and then controlling and checking: filtering traffic, blocking illegal traffic, irregular traffic.”
