When you blend two big trends – digital natives (kids) with the growth of mobile first markets – the result is a young demographic that is highly mobile literate and a strong indication of the mid-term future of the mobile industry.

This infographic from youth orientated marketing platform, SuperAwesome explores how these two mega-trends affect the young in South East Asia, indexing various forms of digital behaviour and exploring mobile’s role in it.

For example, 20 per cent more kids are active on mobile than their peers in the US.  The study which examined markets in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam also found that 87 per cent of kids own and use smartphones. By comparison, 30 per cent of kids in the US own a phone.
