In this exclusive MEF TV interview, Chief Product Officer of Cookies Digital, explains how his company is turning its attention to community, safety, leagues and chat…

Gaming used to be a solitary hobby. You would buy a game on a cartridge or CD, load it up and play for your own amusement. But that all changed with the arrival of fast broadband and mobile connectivity. Very quickly publishers realised that the lasting appeal of gaming lies in multiplay. It’s so much more fun to beat a number of human opponents than your own high score.

Today, multiplayer gaming dominates. The biggest franchises in the PC and console spaces connect players from different regions and time zones for real-time play. And the same thing is happening in mobile.

Cookies Digital is leading the transition. It offers brand-led esports and gaming content to telcos across Europe, MENA, and Africa via brands such as Play&Play and SkillzCamp. Now, Cookies is innovating in connected mobile gaming. It’s tackling important challenges such as:

  • How can players be matched with others of a similar ability?
  • What’s the best way to let players chat and connect?
  • How can players be protected from bullying and harrassment?

Leone Crescenzi, Chief Product Officer of Cookies Digital, set out his answers to these questions on stage at the Global Carrier Summit 2025 earlier this month. Afterwards, MEF tracked him down for this exclusive video interview…
