Infobip First to Launch RCS Messaging Across All Four Major U.S. Telecom Carriers

Infobip has become the first global communications platform to launch Rich Communication Services (RCS) messaging across all four major U.S. telecom carriers, marking a significant milestone in mobile engagement. This rollout empowers businesses to elevate customer interactions through rich, interactive messaging that goes far beyond the limitations of SMS. With RCS, brands can send high-resolution images and videos, offer real-time appointment booking, and create branded, two-way conversations—over both Wi-Fi and mobile data. As RCS adoption grows rapidly, Infobip’s pioneering move positions U.S. businesses to deliver more personalized, dynamic customer experiences that boost engagement and loyalty.

“As evident by our most recent Messaging Trend Report, which found a 500% increase in RCS usage year-on-year, both telecoms and businesses are seeking out better ways to leverage this evolutionary messaging channel. Now that Infobip’s RCS Business Messaging is available across the biggest telco providers in the U.S., leading brands can effectively engage and communicate with targeted customers throughout the world’s largest economy.”  Ivan Ostojić – Chief Business Officer at Infobip

CPaaS: Retail & eCommerce to Account for a Quarter of Global CPaaS Revenue by 2029

A new Juniper Research study forecasts that CPaaS (Communications-Platform-as-a-Service) revenue from the retail and eCommerce sectors will surpass $10 billion by 2029, nearly doubling from $5.8 billion in 2024. This growth will be largely fueled by increasing demand for mobile-driven marketing campaigns, including promotions and loyalty programs. To harness this momentum, CPaaS vendors are urged to enhance their platforms with advanced features like AI-driven customer interactions and integrated payment solutions—essential for orchestrating rich, engaging campaigns that meet the evolving needs of retailers.

Research co-author Sam Barker remarked: “As CPaaS platforms pivot to customer interaction solutions, the most successful vendors will be those that provide solutions that enable more personalised interactive experiences.”

Proofpoint Joins the Wiz Integration Network (WIN) to Strengthen Cloud Data Security

Proofpoint has announced the general availability of its integration with Wiz, bringing together advanced data security posture management (DSPM) and cloud-native application protection (CNAPP) capabilities. This collaboration—part of the Wiz Integration Network (WIN)—allows for bi-directional enrichment between the two platforms, giving organizations greater visibility and control over sensitive cloud data. With recent findings showing that over half of cloud environments expose virtual machines with PII and 61% of organizations have confidential data in public repositories, the integration arrives at a critical time for enterprise cloud security.

“Traditional approaches, which often rely on metadata or sample scans, fall short in an environment where adversaries can weaponize any weak point,” said Amer Deeba, group vice president and general manager of DSPM at Proofpoint. “Combining Wiz’s cloud security insights with Proofpoint’s data classification enables security teams to see what sensitive data is stored where, who can access it, and the risks associated with it. This integration shifts the paradigm toward comprehensive risk visibility so that teams can make better, faster decisions backed by high-fidelity data.”

Proximus Global Insights reveal high consumer appetite for Travel eSIM

Proximus Global’s new research highlights a clear disconnect between consumer awareness and the commercial potential of eSIM technology. While only a third of consumers in the US, UK, and China are currently familiar with eSIMs, nearly half say they would consider using one for travel after learning about its benefits. In the U.S., awareness is especially low, with over half of respondents unaware of what an eSIM is, and a large portion unsure whether their devices even support it. Despite this, countries like China show slightly higher levels of usage, with 27% of respondents having tried eSIMs.

The study emphasizes that many popular smartphones already support eSIM functionality, and as such, the findings reveal a strong opportunity for mobile operators and travel-focused businesses to drive adoption through better education and simpler onboarding.

“Our research highlights the significant potential for brands in the global travel eSIM market,” said Surash Patel, Chief Revenue Officer at Proximus Global. “Demand for eSIM technology is rapidly increasing. Companies that act now will be well-positioned to capture substantial market share. This opportunity isn’t limited to telcos with the right partner, establishing an eSIM offering is straightforward. Retail and travel brands can leverage their customer base to drive adoption and explore cross-selling opportunities for travel eSIMs.”

Telia rolls out prototype Nordlänk RSQ crisis response vehicle

Telia has introduced the Nordlänk RSQ, a prototype command and control vehicle created to ensure uninterrupted connectivity during crisis situations. Developed in collaboration with the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS), the vehicle is designed to operate autonomously anywhere in Sweden, enhancing national resilience in the face of major network outages or power failures.

The Nordlänk RSQ is modular and highly versatile, allowing it to be deployed for a range of critical functions such as repairing telecommunications infrastructure, setting up mobile command centers, and supporting emergency response efforts. It includes its own power source, drone capabilities, and space for five personnel, with the ability to restore or boost mobile network coverage as needed.

Staffan Åkesson, Head of Infrastructure, Telia Sweden: “We’ve built this vehicle as a prototype, but it’s already fully operative and ready for use in increasing the resilience of Telia’s networks. “National preparedness requires innovation and co-operation across the public and private sectors – and this collaboration shows what we can achieve together. We see it as the first step towards a standardized and scalable solution. Together with PTS, we’ll assess the possibility of increasing the number of vehicles, with the aim of strengthening the telecom sector’s ability to respond in a crisis.”
