NuvoLinQ partners with BICS and Kigen for secure point-of-sale connectivity
NuvoLinQ has introduced a new eSIM solution for ultra-secure, reliable cellular POS connectivity in collaboration with BICS and Kigen. This offering provides backup connectivity to ensure uninterrupted transactions, safeguarding against fraud while enabling secure data transmission for modern payment systems. As cash payments decline, secure and always-on connectivity becomes crucial for POS terminals, which now handle inventory, customer data, and analytics. By leveraging private cellular networks like 4G and 5G instead of traditional WiFi, the solution enhances security against hacking threats and ensures stable performance without bandwidth competition.
“IoT has always held untapped potential for secure reliable payments, and this latest solution takes it to the next level”, says Maurizio Tersigni, CEO of NuvoLinQ. “Developed alongside the strongest players in the market, it raises the bar for the security and availability of POS data. It’s a positive step for companies deploying POS hardware and for the small and medium-sized businesses that rely on these technologies to keep their operations every day.”
“While manufacturers might associate IoT connectivity as a complex challenge, partnerships like this simplify the process significantly, Just as customers expect to pay with one tap, this solution means point-of-sale manufacturers can deliver reliable, secure connectivity to their devices via a single touchpoint,” says Surash Patel, Managing Director of BICS.

iProov Study Reveals Deepfake Blindspot: Only 0.1% of People Can Accurately Detect AI-Generated Deepfakes
A new study from iProov, a leading provider of biometric identity verification solutions, reveals that 99.9% of people struggle to identify deepfakes—highly realistic AI-generated videos and images designed to impersonate real individuals.
The research, which tested 2,000 consumers from the UK and US, found that only 0.1% of participants could accurately distinguish between real and fake content across all tested images and videos. The findings highlight growing concerns over digital deception and the increasing sophistication of AI-driven fraud.
“Just 0.1% of people could accurately identify the deepfakes, underlining how vulnerable both organizations and consumers are to the threat of identity fraud in the age of deepfakes,” says Andrew Bud, founder and CEO of iProov. “And even when people do suspect a deepfake, our research tells us that the vast majority of people take no action at all. Criminals are exploiting consumers’ inability to distinguish real from fake imagery, putting our personal information and financial security at risk. It’s down to technology companies to protect their customers by implementing robust security measures. Using facial biometrics with liveness provides a trustworthy authentication factor and prioritizes both security and individual control, ensuring that organizations and users can keep pace and remain protected from these evolving threats.”
