At the recent MEF CONNECTS Omnichannel, Intis Telecom were a key sponsor and champion for the hybrid event – here CEO Andrey Insarov explains why they wanted to be a part of the proceedings, marking a return to in-person conferences for MEF And its Members.

2021 has not been the easiest of years for so many people and organizations around the world. The challenges have just kept coming but if there is one thing we have learnt, it is that SMS and other digital channels have proven to be so valuable day after day.

There have been billions of extra transactions this year driven by the often-fragmented responses to COVID-19 around the world.

With so many organizations and enterprises closing their physical premises for so long, millions of people new to the online worlds and e-Commerce have found themselves forced into it, with little or no experience. The result has been a big increase in activity by bad actors looking to defraud and steal often sensitive data. The area of Messaging has got a lot more attention from professional hackers who have seen the potential payoffs from turning their attention to it.

Our key takeaway from the event was that no matter the progress we have made as an industry in recent years to protect consumers everywhere, there is still so much work to be done. The only way to achieve strong market growth whilst at the same time looking after the best interests of all the mobile subscribers around the world is for us to work together more.

Here at Intis Telecom, we have really responded pro-actively and increased our vigilance for all our customers around the world and we know we are not alone doing this. We had the honour of being a sponsor of the MEF CONNECTS Omnichannel event which concluded in London on December 1st.

It was another great MEF event which brought so many people from across the world together. No matter the future opportunities the so-called ‘metaverse’ will present (a really great presentation about that from Summit Tech during the event), there is no substitute for REAL human interaction and MEF provided us with an opportunity to meet partners old and new from across the globe.

Our key takeaway from the event was that no matter the progress we have made as an industry in recent years to protect consumers everywhere, there is still so much work to be done. The only way to achieve strong market growth whilst at the same time looking after the best interests of all the mobile subscribers around the world (limiting fraud attempts, reducing spam and increasing confidence in mobile digital channels) is for us to work together more.

Opportunities like all those MEF provide us with to do exactly this have to be leveraged and taken advantage of.

Intis Telecom has been a member of MEF for almost one year now and we have seen the MEF organization grow in so many ways. We were pleased to sponsor the opening MEF meet up event on November 29 and three sessions during the event – The Jury on each day and a very inspiring session looking at how omnichannel business messaging can play an increasing role in improving the lives of more than one billion people around the world with a disability. Chris Lewis who moderated it is a real inspiration and it was fantastic to meet him in person too.

2021 has gone by so fast and we look forward to meeting so many of you in person across 2022 at both MEF events and beyond. Business messaging, as we learnt from Mobilesquared’s analyst presentation on the opening day of the event, has huge scope for growth and we look forward to furthering the existing partnerships we have with so many of you MEF members. And finally, we would like to wish so many of you some great time off at the end of the year and happy holidays. We all need to recharge and come back strong for 2022.
