83% of Smartphone Users Have Used Mobile Payments
More than 80% of smartphone users across all countries surveyed by MEF have used mobile payments to acquire goods or services (either online or in physical stores), content and apps (either download or subscription fees), or parking and other ticketing services. However, as we often see, the rate of usage in the mobile-first economies of China, India, Mexico, South Africa and Brazil is much higher than the more developed economies of Germany, UK, Canada, Japan, USA, France, Spain and Italy.
