AfricaCom 2023, the Africa Tech Festival, is the largest digital infrastructure event in Africa and after having returned with a real bang in 2022, the event will this year take place November 14^th to 16^th inclusive in-person.

On Tuesday November 14^thwe have a MEF Roundtable and Meet-Up event for you from 3pm to 9pm. We’ll be welcoming 100 people for some great content, discussions and of course networking – and REGISTRATION is OPEN NOW! 

The event takes place in the events space of the fantastic FNB Portside building, less than five minutes’ walk from the convention centre where AfricaCom takes place. It’s the greenest tall building in Africa and offers stellar views of the city and is just a couple of minutes’ walk away from the International Convention Centre where AfricaCom itself takes place. The address of the FNB Portside is 5 Buitengracht St, Cape Town City Centre, Cape Town, 8001 but all you need to do is look up and you cannot miss it!

15:00 Registrations + Networking Afternoon Tea (food and drink)

16:15  Welcome Address (MEF representatives and LANCK Telecom)

16:30 MEF Board member Waheed Adam is putting together a panel of experts looking at the whole area of cybersecurity and anti-fraud – big business in South Africa and indeed across the whole continent!

17:00  MEF’s Director of Programmes James Williams will be moderating a panel discussion entitled “What Does REAL Success in Customer Engagement Look Like?” Speakers will come from Apprentice Valley, Infobip, netnumber and VOX Solutions

17:30  MEF Project Manager Ross Flynn will be discussing the areas of Direct Carrier Billing and Mobile Payments with a host of MEF member

18:00 LANCK Telecom session: Join Alex Vavilov, LANCK Telecom’s Market Manger for Africa, as he puts a spotlight on the future of Voice, its challenges but also the huge opportunities available – Voice: The Future, Challenges & Opportunities!

18:30  MEF Meet-Up (networking and more food and drink!)

A real perk of full MEF membership is being able to attend physical MEF events for free and, as always, places will be offered on an equitable first come, first served basis. Please note that we are limiting the number of people from each MEF member company to a maximum of four people for this event.
