43% of users now view Direct Carrier Billing as ‘Safe & Secure’

There has been a noticeable increase in consumer trust towards the safety and security of adding payments to our mobile phone bills over the last four years. According to MEF’s 11th Annual Consumer Survey, 43% of people now think Direct Carrier Billing (DCB) is Safe & Secure, up 14 percentage points from 29% in 2022. However, survey nations across the Middle East & Africa all outperformed the average, with 53% of respondents in South Africa believing DCB is both Safe & Secure, followed by 50% in Egypt and 48% in Turkiye.
