P2P Messaging Trends: Older Users Increasingly Switching to WhatsApp and Messenger!
WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger are now so established that usage patterns are mirroring those of the legacy mobile channels (SMS, Voice and Email) – with a general increase in popularity the older the demographic. WhatsApp reigns supreme, especially with the 45-54 group (72% usage), while Messenger see a 16 point increase in popularity from the youngest to oldest users! Voice calls are a hit with the 55+ group (63%), while Email and SMS also climb in popularity with age.
