Gender Disparity

More women in low-income households – and worst in the so-called ‘developed’ economies

In order to celebrate International Women’s Day and, in particular, raise awareness about discrimination and take action to drive gender parity, MEF is today highlighting the income disparity between men and women from our 9th Annual Consumer Trust Survey. Almost 32% of women from the 13 markets surveyed, live in low-income households vs 29% of men. However, it is the ‘developed’ economies of France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, UK, USA and Canada where there was the greatest disparity – with over 42% of women in low-income households vs 36% of men. Collectively we can all #InspireInclusion.
