Indonesian Carriers Playing Catch-Up with Cellular M2M

Indonesia is by far the most populous country in East Asia and will count almost 25% of the total 1.43 billion SIM connections across the 15 countries in the region by the end of 2025. However, while the Emerald of the Equator leverages its almost 300-million people to claim the largest share of total regional handset connections (29% of 1.08 billion) and data-only modems (37.4% of 77 million), it is lagging behind in terms of cellular M2M with just 2% of the region’s 269 mllion connections – depite all carriers having launched 5G services back in 2021. To learn how carriers are now moving from pipe to platform – and cashing in on connectivity, please join us in Jakarta next week at the MEF Leadership Forum, Indonesia. The October 2nd event, held in collaboration with Telin and sponsored by Lanck Telecom, will address the country’s journey from building regional connectivity to safeguarding enterprises in their digital transformation.
