Canada Sees Progress in Combatting Misinformation
MEF’s 11th Annual Consumer Survey shows that belief in controls on misleading news and information has improved globally over the past three years – up 5 percentage points from 45% in 2023 to 50% by 2025. Canada is also part of this positive wave, with perceptions of improvement climbing above average, from 36% to 43% over the same period – highlighting the importance of stronger fact‐checks and clearer regulations.
