The 4th annual MEF Consumer Trust Study is part of MEF’s Consumer Trust Initiative established in 2011, a multi-stakeholder working group united by a commitment to drive best practice and innovation when it comes to consumer data and is part of the group’s ongoing education programme to raise awareness of the importance of privacy, security and identity.

This year’s study is supported by ForgeRock, Orange, and Mobile research specialists On Device Research surveyed 6,500 consumers in 10 markets: Belgium, China, France, Germany, Poland, Romania, South, Africa, Spain, UK and USA in Q2 2017.

The research showcases the attitudes and behaviours of smartphone users globally when it comes to the apps and services they use to gain insights into their understandings and motivations around personal data and helps businesses understand the impact of both new data regulation and changing consumer trends to demonstrate the importance of building trust.

The first report from the study is in association with is in association with ForgeRock and analyses key global findings. With a backdrop of forthcoming General Data Protection Regulation the report highlights some of the challenges and opportunities the industry faces when it comes to managing and leveraging personal data.

It demonstrates the importance of key data principles including consent, data portability and the right to be forgotten. It also identifies changing consumer behaviours and demand for services that build greater trust in the customer journey.

The 50 page report includes charts and analysis looking at:
