The Fraud Management workstream is dedicated to promoting, sharing and developing mechanisms to limit fraudulent practices across the messaging ecosystem. An international and cross-sector Working Group looks at the different fraud types affecting enterprise messaging via four sub-groups Network, Consumer, Enterprise and Market.
The Working Group has collaborated to agree best practices to limit fraud and launched the A2P SMS Code of Conduct as part of the programme’s Trust in Enterprise Messaging Service which aims to protect consumers and demonstrate ethical responsibility while maximising value to all companies in the messaging ecosystem.
The Code aims to tackle 13 fraud types that the working group identified, defined and mapped in its Fraud Framework to understand their impacts from financial, technical, legal and trust perspectives.
Programme participants can join or set-up other sub-groups to help tackle fraud in local markets or sectors. For example, in the UK, Future of Messaging participants have set-up a sub-group to tackle SMiShing and spoofing in collaboration with the MNOs and UK banks.
