Latin America Sees 83% Mobile Broadband Connections

Latin America will see over 83% active mobile broadband penetration of total handset connections by the end of this year. According to the latest research from MEF, the region will count almost 740 million handset SIM connections end-2024, with half of all markets now boasting 5G connectivity. 5G penetration is on course to overtake 3G this year (9.9% vs 9.2%), but still lag 4G (64.1%). 2G and talk/text SIMs will account for the remainder.
