5G Accounts for 31% of Global Broadband Handset Connections End-2024

Total global broadband handset connections have risen from 4.03 billion at the end of 2017 to 6.6 billion at the end of 2024, according to the latest research by MEF Data. Over the same period, we have seen the launch of 5G network technology which now accounts for 31% of total broadband handset connections, compared with 60% for 4G and just 8% for 3G.
