South Africa Edges Canada as The Account-Hacking Capital
South Africa is the account hacking captial of the world (or at least of the 15 markets surveyed by MEF), according to results from our latest consumer survey. On average, 18% of respondents across all survey markets had experienced account hacking, but this rose to 28% in South Africa – narrowly ahead of Canada (27%). Other markets with above-average experience of hacking were the USA (24%), Indonesia (23%), India & Egypt (21%), France & Spain (20%) and Germany (19%).
