The so-called mobile payment has been touted as one of the new business frontiers for technology and telecommunications companies, according to experts attending the sector’s world fair, Mobile World Congress, which took place earlier this year in Barcelona. Companies in the industry estimate that there are now more than 440 million users in the world using the cell phone to pay the restaurant bill or grocery shopping.
These companies earn a percentage on every financial transaction conducted over the phone.
