  • Beyond voice, text, and data – disruptive services to grow carrier ARPU in association with Syntonic

MEF Partners 2018

Moderated by Susan Welsh de Grimaldo from Strategy Analytics this panel session of mobile industry experts will explore the next generation of content services and business models to increase operator ARPU, add new subscribers, and strengthen customer retention.  Space is limited please register here to secure your seat.

Unlimited data plans swept the US in 2017 and are now making their way to other developed markets. However, these plans are not available in emerging markets due to limited network capacity and prohibitive pricing.

To better monetize their networks, mobile carriers in emerging economies, such as Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America are showing great interest in new content-centric models. Many operators are already experimenting with zero-rated content, sponsored data, and “content plans.”  In 2018, more economical and targeted solutions, such as unlimited data content offers, ad- supported content, time or usage-based micro plans, and unlimited-data content subscriptions can lower the access barrier for consumers and grow carrier ARPUs. These new models also open up the funnel for the entire ecosystem, allowing brands, app developers, and publishers new ways to acquire, engage, and monetize consumers by reducing the unnecessary tax associated with mobile data limits.

  • MEF’s Future of Messaging

How will the major consumer, technology and regulatory developments impact enterprise messaging?

Artificial Intelligence, cryptocurrency, automation or GDPR are only some of the significant innovation and regulatory developments impacting (or about to) everything in our lives. Enterprise mobile messaging, one of the preferred channels through which businesses interact with us, is already being pushed by all these, with the likes of RCS, chatbots, just to name a few. With 2018 promising to experiment the impact in the way businesses handle personal data, the explosion of new use cases fuelled by artificial intelligence, it is vital for the enterprise messaging ecosystem, from the enterprise to the mobile network operator, from the app developer to the messaging aggregator, to understand what opportunities these changes are creating, whereas quickly understanding which have the potential to disrupt their business model.

Following up on last year’s success MEF’s Future of Messaging Programme will host a workshop looking at how different stakeholders are preparing for change. What are businesses demanding from enterprise messaging players? How can you stay competitive in enterprise messaging delivery – today and tomorrow? And how can you stay ahead of the game and not be disrupted.

Please email us to pre-register your interest for the MEF Future of Messaging sessions.
