Prior to Infinite Convergence, Anurag served as Senior Vice President at Meru Networks and Chief Business Development and Sales Officer at iPass Inc. During his tenure at these organizations, Anurag played an instrumental role in the successful, multi-billion dollar IPOs for both iPass and Meru Networks. Anurag’s background also includes tenures as Vice President of Internet and Multimedia Services for British Telecom (Worldwide) and senior management roles at Sprint International.

James X. Dempsey - UC Berkeley

Executive Director at Berkeley Center for Law & Technology

Jim Dempsey became Executive Director of the Berkeley Center for Law & Technology in January 2015.  From 1997 to 2014, he was at the Center for Democracy & Technology, where he held a number of leadership position, including Executive Director (2003 to 2005) and head of CDT West (2005 to 2014).

At CDT, he created Digital Due Process, a coalition of over 100 companies, advocacy groups, and trade associations pressing for updates to the Electronic Communications Privacy Act. From 2001 to 2007, Jim headed CDT’s Global Internet Policy Initiative. He has testified numerous times before Congressional committees on privacy and national security issues. Jim is also a part-time member of the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board, an independent agency within the executive branch of the U.S. government charged with overseeing the Nation’s counterterrorism programs.

Justin Olsson, - AVG Technologies

Product Counsel

Since joining AVG in 2013, Justin’s work has focused on counseling the company’s business and product teams on a range of product-related issues, from ideation through end-of-life. Prior to joining AVG, Justin was an associate at Goodwin Procter, LLP, where he worked on a range of issues for technology companies, including intellectual property licensing, mergers and acquisitions, and general start-up law.

Justin graduated from Harvard Law School in 2010 and from Johns Hopkins University in 2007, with a BS in Chemical Engineering.

Chris Riley - Mozilla

Head of Public Policy

Prior to joining Mozilla, Chris worked as a program manager at the U.S. Department of State on Internet freedom, a policy counsel with the nonprofit public interest organization Free Press, and an attorneyadvisor at the Federal Communications Commission.

Chris holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University and a J.D. from Yale Law School. He has published scholarship on topics including innovation policy, cognitive framing, graph drawing, and distributed load balancing.


Emily Hancock - Evernote

Senior Corporate Counsel

As global privacy and data protection counsel, I focus on building and maintaining two core Evernote values: user trust and transparency. I advise on compliance with global privacy and data protection laws, product design, and security, user support and third party data disclosure issues. I also serve as counsel on employment matters globally.


Steve Wood - ICO

Head of Policy Delivery

A member of the Information Commissioner’s office’s Senior Management team, Steve is responsible for overseeing the development the ICO’s guidance, codes of practice, technology policy and research related to Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation. His department also leads the ICO’s international policy work; including representation at the Article 29 Working Party of data protection authorities.

Fatemeh Khatibloo - Forrester Research

Principal Analyst

Fatemeh serves Customer Insights Professionals, with a focus on the shifting consumer data ecosystem, including how privacy issues affect marketing and how customer preference centers improve engagement. Her seminal research on personal identity management (PIDM) describes

how consumers will soon manage the sharing of their personal data with each other and with businesses. Her report “Adaptive Intelligence” further defines a framework for privacy-compliant data sharing between organizations to gain insight, reduce risk, and increase profitability.

Mike Kuniavsky is a user experience designer, researcher, and author. A twenty-year veteran of digital product development, Mike designs products, business processes, and services at the leading edge of technological change.

Prior to joining PARC, he co-founded several successful user experience centered companies, including ThingM, which designs and manufactures ubiquitous computing and Internet of Things products, and Adaptive Path, a well-known design consultancy. He specializes in multi-device interactions, cloud-based service design, and design of hardware products connected to cloud-based services. His background includes design for social analytics, consumer electronics, appliances, image retrieval, RGB LEDs, and financial services.



Cherie M. Dawson - AIG Commercial Insurance

Cherie M. Dawson is currently a Global Cyber Product Leader for AIG Commercial Insurance.   Cherie is responsible for evaluating new and emerging risks in cybersecurity, developing insurance products to respond to client needs in the space, and working across product lines to develop and implement controls around risk selection and capital deployment.

Cherie has been with AIG over 9 years, serving in a number of capacities in both New York and Los Angeles.  She has managed a variety of units,  including leading the West Zone as Casualty Executive, and managing a National Accounts Excess Casualty team.  Cherie joined AIG in 2007 as Vice President of the Strategic Relationship Group.


Laura D. Berger - Federal Trade Commission

Attorney – Division of Privacy and Identity Protection

Laura D. Berger is an attorney in the Division of Privacy and Identity Protection at the Federal Trade Commission.  She enforces federal laws that protect consumer privacy. Recently, her law enforcement work has focused on the privacy and security standards applicable to social media and to the Internet of Things.

She also has worked on the agency’s efforts to educate app developers about privacy and security. She received a B.A. from Tulane University and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. She works from the FTC’s Regional Office in San Francisco.

Michael Becker is a Co-founder & Managing Partner for mCordis, a mobile and connected marketing strategic advisory and marketing educational services provider.  Michael and the team at mCordis (1) advise brand marketers on how to embrace mobile and connected marketing, (2) advise AdTech & MarTech vendors on servicing brands through the mCordis Three-Tier Educational Marketing Framework, and (3) prepare individual marketing professionals to be of service to connected individuals at scale.  Michael is a strategic advisor to Assurant Solutions, Predii, Phoji, FunMobility, and Privowny.

Doron is a Managing Director in KPMG’s Advisory Services practice with over 30 years of experience. Mr. Rotman is currently focused on providing Privacy, Security and Information Governance Services. He is the national privacy service leader, a member of KPMG’s national Privacy Leadership Council, National HIPAA team, and a member of KPMG International Privacy Leadership team. He has extensive high tech, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, utilities and government industry knowledge, both in the information technology and the accounting and finance aspects.


Evan Engstrom - Engine

As Executive Director and formerly, Engine’s first Policy Director, Evan develops Engine’s positions on the key policy issues facing startups and the tech community and manages the organization’s daily operations. Prior to joining Engine, Evan was an attorney at Farella Braun + Martel in San Francisco, focusing on copyright and other intellectual property litigation matters. At Farella, Evan litigated several high-profile Digital Millennium Copyright Act cases, defending websites and ISPs against claims for secondary copyright liability, and was named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers magazine.

Evan is a graduate of Harvard Law School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. When not analyzing policy white papers, Evan enjoys working on his rapidly declining basketball skills and collecting synthesizers.

Meghan Conroy - CaptureProof


CaptureProof is the HIPAA compliant app to capture, compare and share medical photos and video- asynchronously to enable doctor-to-doctor and doctor-patient visual communication.

Meghan’s journey to bring CaptureProof  from concept to vision was very much her passion project – fusing her love of photography, and her desire to help others. Her medical training began with a Bachelors degree in Physiology and a graduate degree in Photography. Meghan started her career as a pharmaceutical rep at Abbott Laboratories and Johnson & Johnson. She launched 14 products into the medical market always ranking within the top of the company’s sales force. After many successful years in pharma, Meghan moved to Paris to pursue a dream and degree in Photography. She then managed photography for clinical trials across Europe where the need for CaptureProof became obvious.

Since its launch in 2001, Rimma has been a driving force at MEF, establishing it as the premier community for the broadening mobile ecosystem. She has grown its global footprint with Chapters established in EMEA, Asia, North and Latin America. Rimma has both a strategic and commercial role to grow the organisation and focuses upon MEF’s remit to accelerate the mobile opportunity for its members.

Named as top 30 women in mobile content in 2014, Rimma is also on the Global Advisory Board for Women in Wireless (WiW) which connects, develops & promotes women leaders in mobile and digital media.

Rafael is a lawyer with 15 years of experience in the technology, internet, media and entertainment industries in Brazil and LATAM, having co-founded FAS Attorneys at Law, where he’s a partner.

He worked actively on the creation of the MEF LATAM Chapter in 2010 and serving as Policies & Initiatives Director and later General Manager until 2014, where he helped drive the growth of the Chapter and oversaw the creation of MEF LATAM’s Code of Conduct for Value Added Services.
