The North America Chapter of MEF is headquartered in San Francisco. It is the driving force behind MEF’s annual conference MEF Global Forum which takes place in Silicon Valley in November each year.

MEF North America champion’s the Global Consumer Trust initiative and since 2012 has held a Consumer Trust Summit in Washington DC. Its board elected in December 2014 is chaired by Mozilla with Co-Vice Chairs from Dentons and mBlox. Full board details below.

Richard (Rick) Fant is an accomplished product development executive with a background in software engineering, product management and international deployment. Rick is currently a Vice-President at AVG Technologies leading a cross-functional team building next generation smartphone protection and management products entering growth markets. Over his career he has driven successful product development at Microsoft, Vodafone and Mozilla; launching MSN Mobile, Vodafone 360 and Firefox OS into international markets. Richard also sits on the Board of Directors for two organizations; VillageReach – an NGO innovating in last-mile Africa healthcare and Mobile Ecosystem Forum (MEF) – an industry association focused on expanding the overall mobile ecosystem.


Todd Daubert – MEF NA Co-Vice Chair

As the CEO and Co-founder of – an award winning mobile ad exchange, Dippak plays a central role in today’s mobile ecosystem working with Telecom providers, Mobile Content companies, App Developers, Publishers and Advertisers. With 17 years of experience across Internet & Mobile, Dippak has been instrumental in making revolutionary introductions in the space, including launching: India’s first Online Newspaper – The Times Of India in 1996, India’s first Online Ad Network – Intercept Technologies in 1999, India’s first SMS Shortcode in 2001 for Yahoo, Pioneered internet portals for Telcos – in 2004, World’s first One Click App Monetization platform – AppWrapper in 2010 and World’s first Ad platform with Telco enabled audience targeting – AudiencePro in 2013. Charlotte Fors – MEF NA Co-Vice Chair

Charlotte Fors is VP of Sales at mBlox, a global leader in Mobile Messaging and Mobile Engagement. mBlox has been an active contributor to MEF in the US for 10+ and in her role leading commercial teams in US, Europe and Asia, Charlotte has also supported the organization since 2003. She has an outstanding personal network across the mobile value chain, from carriers and aggregators to service providers, content providers and enterprise customers.

In 2012, she was recognized by the Mobile Marketer as one of the top 25 Women to Watch in the Mobile industry. As the As the Co-Founder of Women in Wireless, a non-profit industry organization that promotes and develops female leaders in mobile & digital media in the US and overseas, Charlotte is keen to leverage WiW’s 9 chapters around the world to enrich MEF’s community.

Charlotte is on the board of SACC, the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce that helps facilitate and support trade, commerce, and investment between the U.S. and Sweden, so has the expertise to help MEF North America in its local and international trade development mission.


Joanna Brace – AVG Technologies

Joanna Brace is VP Marketing and Product Marketing for the business division of AVG Technologies, the online security company with over 188 million active users and 10,000 partners. She leads the company’s business global marketing, product management, product marketing, channels marketing, web marketing and partner enablement teams.

An established media commentator on issues surrounding business security and privacy, cloud technologies and business mobility, Joanna has developed award winning industry campaigns such as “The Living Workplace” which focused on the consumerization of IT, and the positive effect on business performance. Joanna is a regular speaker at global events including the AVG Cloud Summit, IBM, Skype, and Microsoft conferences. She also provides mentorship for small businesses through Chamber Commerce events, the Henley Research Group & is a volunteer on various industry fora.


Martin Sokalski – KPMG

Martin Sokalski is a Managing Director in KPMG US Advisory network focused on Mobile Enablement and Emerging Technology Risks.

Martin has worked with clients across a variety of industries and functions to help establish mobile strategies, target operating and governance models, app development and delivery, as well as info security, privacy, and compliance related functions and capabilities.

Vikram Shanbhag – Mahindra Comviva

Prior to his current role, Vikram spearheaded a SBU at Mahindra Comviva where he played a pivotal role in deploying innovative mobile messaging, data and analytical solutions to leading operators in the industry. With over 24 years of experience in various senior roles in Telecoms and IT domains, Vikram has been instrumental in conceptualizing, developing and deploying solutions for the Telecoms market in the OSS, BSS, and VAS areas working with organizations such as AT&T Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies, Trilogy, Covansys. He has partnered with telecom operators in the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific regions to deploy revenue generating services in fixed and mobile networks.


Marc Kleinmaier – Microsoft

VP of Developer Experience, North America

As the Head of Developer Experience in North America for Microsoft Mobile, Marc is responsible for all activities and engagements related to application ecosystem, evangelism, business development, and sales & marketing support.

Prior to his current role, Marc led Operator Ecosystem activities for North America, acting as a bridge between the account teams selling devices, and the developer experience groups, sourcing great apps to highlight the key selling points of Lumia hardware. Much of Marc’s past career has been focused on social and location-based mobile services (SoLoMo). He’s held strategic roles, driving business development, product, marketing and evangelism at companies like Rocket Mobile, FunMobility and Yahoo! Mobile.

Marc is recognized by AlwaysOn Media as a “Mobile Power Player” and brings seventeen years of mobile experience to Microsoft. His passion for ubiquitous computing, cloud services, wearables, augmented reality and the Internet of things, gives Marc a finger on the pulse that drives today’s technology ecosystem into tomorrow.


Ron Czerny – PlayPhone

As founder, CEO and board member, Ron Czerny serves as the visionary and driving force behind PlayPhone’s corporate strategy. His more than 19 years of experience in the digital entertainment industry has allowed Czerny to help establish PlayPhone’s dominance in the mobile media industry and has positioned the company to compete and thrive on a global scale.

In 2000, Czerny founded Atrativa, a mobile and Internet consumer entertainment company with operations based mainly in Latin America as CEO Czerny led Atrativa to its current status as the premier Web game provider in South America, powering several major ISPs including UOL (South America’s largest ISP), Yahoo! Brazil, AOL Brazil, MSN Brazil, Ibest (Telecom Brazil), Terra Networks (North & South America) and many others. RealNetworks, Inc. acquired Atrativa in 2006.

Czerny also played an important role in Latin America’s video game industry between 1992 and 1999 as the co-founder of the Brazilian Entertainment and Video Game Association. He also served as the president of Romstar and Sports Arcade, companies with strategic and exclusive partnerships with Capcom for video game distribution in Latin America.


Max Pellegrini – RealNetworks

Max is President of Mobile Entertainment at RealNetworks, the internet pioneer that invented the streaming media category and continues to connect consumers with their digital media both directly and through partners, aiming to support every network, device, media type and social network. In his position at RealNetworks Max oversees the mobile business in partnership with more than 20 carriers worldwide with more than 25M active monthly consumers that use RN platforms to enjoy and connect with media content and with each other .

Prior to RealNetworks Max has been Chairman and CEO of, which has been a leading premium mobile web company in North America. He joined Dada in Italy in 2000, and started the company’s U.S. operation in 2005. In 2011, Dada was acquired by mobile entertainment leader Buongiorno S.p.A, which was in turn acquired by NTT DOCOMO in 2012.


Simon Callan – Telefónica S.A.

Director Business Development, Group Device Unit – Global CMO

Simon has been at the forefront of leading disruptive change in the mobile industry with experience working across content-providers, mobile OS platforms, OEMs and Carriers.

Currently at Telefonica, Simon leads Business Development for the rollout of Firefox OS-powered devices – which have already launched across many of Telefonica’s markets in Europe & LatAm. Prior to Telefonica, Simon led a team driving partnerships across North America for Nokia’s devices business – working with leading content publishers to deliver differentiated and award winning experiences with companies such as CNN, PayPal, LinkedIn, AOL and Kraft.

In the start-up space, Simon was co-founder of his own content-delivery business in 2006, building a platform to deliver mobile content to end consumers and currently works with several start-ups via Telefonica’s own incubator, Wayra.
