Rimma Perelmuter, CEO

Rimma Perelmuter is CEO & Global Board Director at the Mobile Ecosystem Forum (MEF), the global trade body that works with its members to accelerate the growth of a sustainable mobile ecosystem that drives inclusion for all and delivers trusted services to enrich the lives of consumers.

Since its launch in 2001, Rimma has been a driving force at MEF, establishing it as the premier community for the broadening mobile ecosystem. She has grown its global footprint with Chapters established in EMEA, Asia, North and Latin America. Rimma has both a strategic and commercial role to grow the organisation and focuses upon MEF’s remit to accelerate the mobile opportunity for its members.

Named as top 30 women in mobile content in 2014, Rimma is also on the Global Advisory Board for Women in Wireless (WiW) which connects, develops & promotes women leaders in mobile and digital media.

Joanne Lacey, COO

Joanne manages the global team and day-to-day operations of MEF. She oversees its global roadmap of initiatives, analytics and events roadmap.  She has worked in the mobile industry since 2000 having experienced the joys of the early-days mobile gaming via WAP, SMS and Java with market pioneer I-play (Digital Bridges). At Player X she was Marketing & Licensing Director working with network operators and content owners to deliver VAS services, later becoming COO to oversee the integration of the organisation post-acquisition.

Since joining MEF in 2011, key projects have included launching new programmes that facilitate industry collaboration to tackle fraud (Future of Messaging) and drive best practice and innovation (Building Trust in Personal Data) as well as revamping its Global Insights Series and launching MEF Minute – the award-winning industry blog.

Ewa Peppitt, Global Member Manager

Ewa joined MEF in 2013 as Member Services Manager. Prior to MEF, Ewa worked at GSMA, where she managed membership of operator members from all over the world.

She is experienced in databases and business to business membership management and development.

Ewa has been involved in various internal projects and regional and global events including Mobile World Congress. Before joining the mobile industry she worked at Bartercard, the world’s biggest business to business trade exchange.

Sam Hill, Global Communications Manager

Sam Joined MEF in 2012 as Communications Manager for MEF globally. Sam is a digital marketing specialist who has previously worked for the premium rate phone regulator in the UK.

Sam manages the day to day global communications and social networks for MEF and built and maintains content on the website.

He can usually be found at events reporting for MEFTV, and created and edits the MEF Minute – the award winning mobile industry oriented blog.

Gabriela Fernandes, MEF LatAm General Manager

Gabriela joined MEF in September 2015 as the General Manager of the LatAm Chapter.

Prior to MEF Gabriela worked at Paymentwall Inc (Silicon Valley Mobile Payments Company) as the LATAM Business Development Manager and previously at Japanese eCommerce giant Rakuten as the Mobile Marketing Manager.

Therefore she has great marketing experience in mobile and eCommerce as well as a unique enthusiasm in developing and managing new projects.

Gabriela holds a Master of Science in International Relations from Northeastern University (Boston-USA)

Miranda Smith, Project Manager

Miranda re-joined MEF in January 2016 after some time spent overseeing the compliance departments within two mobile messaging companies.

She has also previously worked for the UK Premium Rate Regulator and in her previous role at MEF, Miranda managed projects and activities on a global and regional basis which addressed the monetisation of mobile content and services, the protection of revenues, policy development, regulation and education.

Miranda supports the Global MEF team and membership across MEF’s key initiatives and Programmes, including MEF Africa, Consumer Trust, Messaging and Regulation.

Ricardo Bastos, Project Manager

Ricardo Bastos joined MEF in 2014, as General Manager in Latin America, overseeing MEF’s operations in the region, including the Code of Conduct for the VAS sector in Brazil.

In 2016, Ricardo joined MEF in Europe, helping to design the Mobile Messaging programme and the new “Building Trust In Personal Data” programme, two of MEF’s flagship initiatives.

Prior to joining MEF, Ricardo was a technical product manager and an engineer for major telecom and technology players, like Siemens and Vodafone, having worked in Portugal, Germany, UK & Brazil.
