Trevor Goldberg

Vice President Business Development, Bango

Trevor has worked in the mobile technology sector for over 20 years and is currently VP Business Development for Bango, having joined in 2005.   Trevor is responsible for Bango’s mobile operator relationships throughout Asia, where they have Direct Carrier Billing connections for the major mobile app stores such as Google Play. Deployments are live in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Philippines and Bangladesh and managed from their Singapore office.

Trevor has a wealth of experience of the mobile ecosystem, having worked with operators, device manufactures, content providers, developers and app stores. He believes that he can make a significant contribution to the objectives and aims of MEF Asia.  Trevor believes his knowledge, insight and focus on Asia, would help MEF to broaden their appeal to potential members and extend and enhance the offerings to the existing community.

He very much hopes that members will consider him to be a worthy enough candidate to join the prestigious board and he very much looks forward to having an opportunity to make a measurable difference, both to MEF Asia and the activities of its members.

Paul Palmer

Vice President, APAC, F-Secure

Paul Palmer is the Vice President, APAC region of F-Secure Corporation based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He joined F-Secure Corporation in May 2014.

Paul leads Sales and Marketing across the APAC region for F-Secure and is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Paul started his career in engineering and subsequently transitioned to technical presales and then onto sales and sales management. Paul has worked extensively in EMEA and APAC regions and has a broad contact base of customers and partners. Paul has been based and working in APAC for the past 10 years and has worked in the mobile device management(MDM), femto(small cell), mobile security, Value Added Services including content acquisition and working with the entertainment industry.

Paul is able to support organisations wishing to enter the APAC market and advise them on the right strategies for successful entry to the market having started 3 companies operations in the region from scratch. Paul can also support some of the MEF key initiatives such as the ‘privacy in apps’ initiative which is also aligned with F-Secure strategy and direction regarding protection of personal privacy online.

Peter Cook

CEO, Novatti

Peter Cook is the CEO of payments solution specialist Novatti – www.novatti.com.  Novatti provides digital wallet solutions and enabling platforms for innovative mobile payment and m-commerce solutions.  These robust solutions allow rapid deployment of new services for banks and telecoms operators.  Novatti’s solutions drive business models for many MNOs and major participants in disruptive businesses in remittance and mobile payments.

Peter also chairs payments companies MoniSend Africa www.monisend.com, Flexewallet www.flexewallet.com and TransferBridge www.transferbridge.com.  MoniSend connects to more than 60 banks, retailers and financial institutions in Africa, Flexewallet holds an Australian Financial Services license for mobile payment services and TransferBridge is an international alternate payments hub.  Peter is a regular speaker on innovation, prepaid services and alternate payments networks and has a particular interest in Donor to Person and Government to Person “purposeful remittances & payment”.

As a Board member, Peter brings a wealth of experience in developing and developed markets as both a technology evangelist and financial services business operator.  Peter’s passion for bringing technologies and services to consumers will help digital financial services inclusion.  He will support MEF’s objectives by being a strong contributing board member.

George Guo

Corporate Vice President and Managing Director of APAC, Syniverse

George is a seasoned telecom and Internet executive with 20 years of proven experience in building, managing, and growing successful functional organization, line of business, and regional subsidiary for Fortune 100 and mid-cap public companies. George holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Northwestern University in the US.

After working for high-tech companies such as Lockheed Martin with progressive managerial responsibilities, George joined Neustar as its founding CIO in 2000, and then came to Asia to found its APAC subsidiary in 2004. Neustar successfully went public on NYSE in 2005.

Currently at Syniverse (a spin-off from Verizon and a portfolio company of the Carlyle Group), George is heading its Enterprise & Intelligence Solutions business in APAC. Syniverse has 28 years of experience in the mobile industry, enabling mobile operators, enterprises, brands, and OTTs to reach, engage, and protect end consumers for most personalized, context-aware mobile experience.

With both operators and enterprises as customers, Syniverse brings unique perspectives, innovative solutions, and tangible value propositions to make the entire mobile ecosystem work. If elected as a Board member of MEF, George is keen to bring his extensive technical and business knowledge in both mobile and Internet spaces to serve the member companies.

Romuald Marappan

Managing Director APAC, TIMWE

Romuald started as a humble software developer in Motorola 15 years ago, and today, is the Asia Pacific Managing Director of TIMWE, a Portuguese multinational company operating in 75 markets offering mobile monetization, marketing and entertainment solutions to mobile carriers, media groups, governments and various marketing agencies. He is currently based at the APAC regional office in Kuala Lumpur.

His enigmatic personality coupled with years of experience has molded Romuald to be a successful marketer and management whiz with strong commercial acumen in addition to his extensive technical skills.

Romuald looks forward to leveraging his extensive network to promote MEF’s initiatives and grow its visibility within the region. More importantly he is keen to be given to the opportunity to engage with regional and global industry leaders to explore and share ideas in relation to the expected growth and its inherent challenges as he helps shape the future of mobile across Asia.

Romuald’s exceptional traits as a strategist with precise decision making skills and a brilliant technologist make him what we all readily acknowledge: an awesome leader.

Benjamin Fauchald

CEO, Uteeni

Mr Fauchald has been working in the Internet and Telecom industry since 1996. He founded 180.no, one of the first and most successful online directory platforms in Norway, in order to facilitate high-end online presence for businesses at an entry-level price.  Previously to starting 180.no, Fauchald worked in multiple roles in Telenor, a major force in the industry.  Here he developed several internal control systems later adopted by major organizations including The Norwegian Police and The Norwegian Stock Exchange.

This concept proved immensely successful and quickly developed from a small start-up to a large enterprise employing over 100 people with tens of thousands of paying customers, becoming a go-to and household name among consumers in his native country. Subsequently, Fauchald launched similar ventures in over 14 European countries.  His new focus is SouthEast Asia, starting with Thailand and his new home in Bangkok where he is working with the leaders in the tech industry to try to reform mobile payments in South East Asia.

As successful entrepreneur Fauchald has exited several startups and is routinely hosting technology conferences in as well as mentoring and advising startups in the region. Through his experience he has an extensive network in the South East Asia technology scene and is regularly talking to industry leaders on how to move the technology scene forward in the region.
