MEF Member Zariot shares a summary of their recent webinar where Head of Security, Jimmy Jones and Cédric Levy-Bencheton from Cetome explain the EU’s upcoming Cyber Resilience Act, which will have a big impact on the IoT ecosystem.

The costs of getting hacked is costly and damaging, with companies spending millions of dollars to rectify data breaches and ransomware recoveries, leaving them struggling to regain customer trust.

This is only set to increase as IoT, and other new technologies expand security boarders and the complexity of safeguarding your estate.

Globally, governments have accelerated efforts to introduce cybersecurity frameworks to mitigate these risks and ensure companies minimize the negative effects of a breach.

In this webinar, ZARIOT’s Head of Security, Jimmy Jones and Cédric Levy-Bencheton from Cetome walk you through the European Union’s (EU) upcoming Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). The act will Enter into Force (EIF) Q4 2024, with all mandatory requirements appliable 36 months after EIF (expected Q4 2027).

The CRA is not only the first EU cybersecurity regulation to set common cybersecurity standards for products with digital elements, but the pioneering legislation for Internet of Things (IoT) worldwide. It aims to enhance the cybersecurity of digital and connected products, including incident reports and automatic security updates, throughout their entire lifecycle.

Watch the video as we unpack the following themes and more:

  • The real-world impact of CRA and how businesses can adhere to the standard.
  • The improvements it will bring to IoT device security throughout product lifecycle: from design and development, through deployment and withdrawal.
  • If the proposed penalties are a legitimate compliance tool or will be regarded as an empty threat.

We will also look at solutions within the wider ZARIOT ecosystem of partners and solutions and how it can provide the tools and functionality to ensure your IoT deployments are successful and in full compliance with the upcoming regulations.
