Sinch AI Used to Safely Pre-Triage Patients

Sinch, a leader in customer communication solutions, has partnered with Dutch medical technology company MINDD to create an AI-driven system aimed at easing the strain on medical practices in the Netherlands. This advanced solution will pre-triage patients, helping to reduce the overwhelming volume of daily calls that medical professionals receive.

In the Netherlands, a significant portion of these calls (around 42%) are from individuals who do not need immediate medical attention, leading to long wait times and increased pressure on healthcare providers. The new AI system developed by Sinch and MINDD aims to streamline the triage process, ensuring that patients in urgent need of care receive timely attention while reducing the workload for healthcare staff.

“Working with Geertina and her team at MINDD has always been a great experience. 5G Security to Drive Voice & SMS Fraud Under $20 Billion by 2028

New research from Kaleido Intelligence, a prominent market research firm in roaming and connectivity, indicates that annual fraud losses from voice and operator messaging channels will decrease to $17 billion by 2028, reflecting a 9% annual decline from 2024’s projected losses. The report, titled Mobile Network Fraud & Security: 2024 Outlook, attributes this reduction to decreased use of these channels and the shutdown of circuit-switched networks, which will push fraudsters towards newer forms of fraud, such as attacks on APIs and the use of AI to manipulate telecom networks and fabricate false subscriber identities.

Subscriber fraud, driven by these false identities, is expected to remain the most significant type of fraud, causing nearly $11 billion in operator losses by 2028.

Report author James Moar commented: “The security problems with RCS implementations are emblematic of many security issues within the telecoms space; flexibility and variation in standards implementation, while helpful to operators dealing with diverse infrastructure, continues to make high security an option, rather than a necessity.”
