At the recent 5G Techritory online event, the 3rd-annual Baltic Sea Region 5G ecosystem forum, MEF CEO Dario Betti was part of an expert panel discussing the ethics surrounding 5G data privacy.
The panel explored how 5G might look at apps and services on top of the network and identify where protecting controls could be added to allow customers more control of their data, therefore, when and how they use it. 5G could provide social networks with 360 degree tracking of individuals – who would benefit from that and where does ethics stand in all of this?
Moderated by Graham Thomas, Global Head of Data Privacy & Ethics at Cognizant the panel consisted of:
- Mikko Niva, Global Privacy Officer at Vodafone
- Eamonn O’Neill, Professor, Director, UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Accountable, Responsible and Transparent AI, University of Bath
- Frank Wagnar, Vice President, Group Privacy – Business, Services & Infrastructure, Deutsche Telekom
- Dario Betti, CEO of the Mobile Ecosystem Forum
