Get key insights from MEF’s 6th Global Smartphone User Survey – this week, looking at Mobile Payments (pre- Covid-19).

Smart devices include IoT, smart watches, smart cars and other devices  connected and controlled via a smartphone. China is a clear leader, with high penetration of smart watches. The market reports 1 in 3 smartphone users have a connection with at least one smart device. The UK is the leader in Europe (28%), followed by Spain (18%).

Germany is the least active smart market, with only 10% of smartphone users reporting a connection to a smart device. Japan follows closely with 11%.

The other countries, show limited growth (between 1 to 2 percentage point) and are between 17% (Brazil) and 28% (UK).
