Apps World 2012 low res_052MEF is pleased to continue its partnership with the Apps World series following on from the European event in London last year. Next week’s Apps World North America hits San Francisco’s Moscone Center West on February 5-6 and features one of the broadest ranges of content available, with 11 key conference tracks covering everything from gaming to mobile strategy.

Join MEF members at Apps World for a free workshop on mobile privacy on the 5th Feb at 1:00pm and find out how to ensure your business can monetize data the right way, while hearing more about MEF’s free online privacy policy generator AppPrivacy.net.

There’s no doubt consumers love apps. However, negative news reports about alleged abuses of personal information can leave developers vulnerable. New legislation in the US and across Europe means developers could soon be liable to privacy-related prosecutions. The good news is that it’s easy to make apps privacy friendly.

The free session will be led by Todd Daubert, a Partner at MEF Member Dentons and Chair of their legacy Communications and Technology Sectors, as well as a key member of MEF’s Privacy in Mobile Apps Working Group, responsible for the development of the App Privacy Initiative.

The expert panel also includes representatives from AVG, Field Fisher Waterhouse and TRUSTe:

Each track at Apps World North America features keynote speakers including the likes of Paul Irish, developer advocate for Chrome who is speaking in the HTML5 track, Neal Edelstein, founder and CEO of Hooked Digital Media in the TV Apps and Second Screen track, Nick Evans, CEO & founder of Tile in Developer World and Kristian Segerstrale, co-founder of Initial Capital, in Gaming World. The legendary Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak will also return as official keynote.

In total more than 300 speakers and 200+ exhibitors will be present, ensuring the range of knowledge and expertise is unrivalled for the expected 8,000 attendees.

As well as a conference and exhibition, the event will also include seven themed start-up zones where new businesses and entrepreneurs will be showing off what could well be the next big app innovation of tomorrow within specific zones such as Automotive Apps, Indie Games and Wearable and M2M.

The theme of supporting innovation continues with the Apps World series of hackathons too with developers coming together at the show to compete for prizes and glory at both a TV Hackfest and an Apps Hackfest.
