A consortium of investors from Silicon Valley and the UK have added more cash to fund Boku’s global payment operations.

Boku launched in 2009 with a mission to become the world’s leading carrier billing company. Today it has hundreds of carrier connections and partnerships with merchants including Sony, Spotify and Facebook.

Mexico’s mobile VAS specialist Binbit has snapped up exclusive distribution of mobile content for F.C. Barcelona across 40 countries in Latin America, Asia and East Europe.
The three year deal will take the club’s digital IP to its most remote followers; Binbit has partnerships with more than 90 carriers worldwide.

Millions of MasterCard card holders can now tap to pay in store direct from the phones.
Masterpass was previously available as a digital wallet for online purchases, but now the card network has made it useable for in-store contactless payments.

Bouyant business in Europe and the Americas helped IMImobile to positive revenue and profit in the year to March 2016.

The company’s revenue rose 26 per cent to £61.6m, while gross profit rose by 22 per cent to £36.5m.

On the week of its eighth anniversary, note-taking platform Evernote has just welcomed its 200 millionth customer.

The firm has amassed its user base across 200 countries and 31 languages, with 24 per cent in the US, 35 per cent in Asia and ten per cent in China. It said that over eight years, its users had written five billion notes.
