Which mobile apps and services did consumers enjoy in 2015? Who will be the winners and losers in 2016? We recently surveyed more than 5000 consumers in 8 countries to find out, and you can now download the results for free.

2016 heralds evolution rather than revolution in the mobile market, according to recent research by MEF. When asked what types of mobile apps and services they enjoyed most in 2015, then what they’ll use more of this year, consumers around the world gave the same response: social networks and games.

No surprises there then, but the data shows interesting demographic trends to help shape your mobile strategy.

35-44 year olds are the keenest gamers while 16-24 year olds prefer music and interestingly twice as many over 55s plan to do personal banking via mobile in 2016 compared to younger users.

From a country perspective – China tops the charts on mobile retail payments and shopping online and the research identified mobile education on the rise in Brazil and South Africa.
